AlBerven/drums

Al received his first drumset the Christmas before his 3rd birthday. Many years of “noise” came from the basement of the Berven household in Chester, SD. That led to playing drums in school and really loving Jazz Band. At the age of 15, Al joined his first professional band and played all the classic 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s music with musicians twice his age. Some of the band names that Al has been associated with: Spare Parts, Clean Break, Excape, Dakota Road Music, Search for George, and Beggar. Al has recorded dozens of regional CDs and works as the drum department manager at Sioux Falls Music. Since August of 2002, he has been keeping time for the rock band Kory and the Fireflies and has played as far west as Las Vegas and as far east as the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, sharing the stage with many of his musical heros. Al is endorsed by Vic Firth sticks, and plays Zildjian Cymbals and Drum Workshop drums and hardware.
